Scalability and Future-Proofing

To build a platform designed to scale as more libraries become customers, ZoCo overhauled CapiraMobile's information architecture. The new standardized structure referenced learnings from customer feedback workshops and ZoCo’s audit of the current app based on industry-standard UX heuristics. These combined learnings led to more intuitively prioritized sections of the app, with 23 new features and the space to support future growth.

Accelerated Design Cycles with User Feedback

ZoCo adopted an iterative design and testing process, right-sizing the approach to ensure rapid delivery without sacrificing quality. By focusing on five key workflows, the team ensured the new app addressed OCLC's biggest challenges. Testing initial prototypes with library patrons helped vlalidate design decisions early and identified actionable improvements.

Increased Patron Engagement and Library Funding

The redesigned app transformed how patrons interacted with the most important features. By elevating the prominence of Search and Services in the app’s main navigation, access and awareness of these features became significantly easier. Improved discoverability of library services directly benefits libraries, who receive funding based on service use and event attendance.

Enabling Product-Led Growth for the Future of CapiraMobile

CapiraMobile’s scalable architecture, customizable features, and improved usability will allow OCLC to expand its reach in the public library market, making it easier for libraries to adopt the app and for patrons to engage with services. With 23 new features and a focus on delivering long-term value, OCLC can confidently grow while offering libraries and their users an intuitive, future-ready experience.
