The Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is Ohio’s largest hunger relief organization, supporting food banks, pantries, healthcare partners, and neighbors through a growing ecosystem of digital and in-person services.

How do we make food assistance easier to access, coordinate, and deliver?
As one of the country's most innovative organizations fighting hunger, MOFC understands that ending hunger requires building the infrastructure that makes access to support easier, more equitable, and more effective. FreshTrak Unified became an opportunity to design the next generation food bank platform.
Rather than starting from scratch, we built on what MOFC already knew. We consolidated years of research, stakeholder feedback, and operational expertise into an AI-powered knowledge base, allowing us to surface existing insights, identify gaps, and focus on what mattered most.
At the same time, critical moments with stakeholders, partners, and neighbors remained entirely human-led. We brought together more than 60 stakeholders to ground every feature, workflow, and design decision in lived experience. What emerged was a shared platform vision that serves every audience involved in hunger relief.


Through map-based search, people can discover nearby resources, filter results based on dietary needs and preferences, and quickly return to trusted locations. User testing revealed small but meaningful opportunities to reduce friction, leading to improvements like walk-in indicators and easier access to frequently visited sites.

Volunteers can confidently check in neighbors with minimal training. Agencies gain visibility into daily operations and the communities they serve. Food banks can identify trends, uncover service gaps, and better understand emerging food deserts. Case managers spend less time navigating systems and more time helping the person in front of them.


By unifying and improving existing tools, MOFC is bringing leaders, partners, and communities together around a shared vision for food access across the state.
