Most of us are spending more time inside department stores than usual this time of year and this had us thinking: how long could you survive locked inside a department store?
The ZoCo team mad mixed reactions. Some said they would only make it a few days while others were confident they could live out their existence inside the walls of a Target while never breathing fresh air ever again.
I mean, most department stores do have a lot of the basic necessities you would need to survive for an extended period of time–food, clothing, bedding, bathrooms, even exercise equipment. Let's pretend there are years worth of these necessities on the shelves. That's only half the battle.
Imagine waking up every morning to the same self checkout #8, zero natural light, and the only social interaction you have is with the lovely mannequin family in apparel that you've named Richard, Christine, and Nigel.
And then what are you going to do with all your time? Reorganize the shelves? Dust every inch of the 100k sq. ft. building? There are only so many books and owner manuals you can read.
How long do you think you could make it? Let us know on Instagram or Twitter.
Curious how this would play out in real life? Popular YouTuber Mr. Beast paid someone $10,000 every day they survived locked inside a grocery store (of course he did). You can check out below the 21-minute video below.
